I have Inventor/MDT subscriptions.
I am trying to install the latest service pack for MDT and
I am not having much luck. I have entered a
support request with Autodesk and I am still having trouble.
AutoCad shows that I have:
Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 2007 Hotfix1
Any pointers for installing the latest service pack?

Hi Robert
Please note I have *moved* this thread from the CAD Mgmt. General (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=119) forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.
Thanks, Mike

Any pointers for installing the latest service pack? Are you getting a specific error?
The two most common things I've seen are:
1) You have the wrong service pack (your installing the SP from MDT for Inventor Pro on the MDT for Inventor Series or vice versa).
2) You don't have adequate permissions to install (usually causes a Microsoft 1603 or 1406 error).
3) A virus checker is stopping the SP from installing because it things the SP is malicious.
My .02! I hope it helps.

I also am coming across the same problem.
I was able to apply HotFix1 but not SP1.
It IS the right service pack, acm2007_swl_sp1.exe. (AutoCAD Mechanical 07)
The following is the error message i recieved.
Error 1328: Error applying patch to file
C:\Config.msi\PT5b3.tmp. It has probably been
updated by other means, and can no longer be modified
by this patch. For more information contact your
patch vendor.
Upon cancelling out of this i recieved a Error 1603: Contact Admin.
1.Is it safe to assume the 1603 error was caused by aborting the SP1 install?
2.Why can i not install this service pack ? and how do I go about installing it ?

Very good tips.....thanks Johnathan.
Since this post my IT guys have given up.
Due to the subscription service, I can always ignore
the patches and look forward to next years release of AutoCad.
