I'm looking for a simple drawing program for others in the office that want to be able to convey their sketches in cleaner form... what is Auto Sketch like? i haven't seen any demos on it... i did find one called Delta CAD... very primitive... thanks for your input...

I don't believe AutoSketch is still sold. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen it in quite some time.

Without knowing what kind of work you do or what your exact needs are you might want to check out Sketchup. Cheap and easy to learn. Also plays well with pretty much any full blown CAD applicationhttp://www.sketchup.com/

Looks like it is still available for purchase via the Autodesk web site...

thanks guys...

Mike-
i see that they still have AutoSketch... i just don't know anything about it... not to worry though, i think I've hooked them up with a very simple and inexpensive software... "DeltaCAD"...

Dimitri-
I've been working with SketchUp for the last 4+years now... i love it... in fact i use it all of the time to show different views to clients that can't read plans... thanks again...

I, too, am having trouble grasping Autosketch 9. I am an interior decorator and thought this software would be great for floor plans and elevations but I'm having difficulty learning it. I called Autodesk and there is no training program. Does anyone know a tutor in the Atlanta, Georgia area? Is there an "Autosketch 9 For Dummies" manual? Thanks.

I am new at this. What is the software? I have a friend who is betting me a steak dinner that this software does not insert raster images, whatever that means. Do I got to pay or does he?

This may help you.

Picture Support
Add photographs, scanned images, logos, or any other raster file to your drawings. You have complete control over the size and placement of images, including bitmapped images and annotations. Further enhance your drawings with textures or photorealistic images by adding bitmaps to enclosed areas. AutoSketch 10 supports BMP, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PNG, ICO, EMF, and WMF formats.

I would order the 18 oz porterhouse medium rare.

There is a 30 day free trial you can get and you can save them to DWG files. Auto Sketch is a fairly inexpensive software so it might be worth investing in if this is going to be a frequent event in the future.
