I tried to insert a block with attributes for our title block and I kept getting arx errors, The command line looks like this:

Command: i DDINSERT
ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClassDuplicate definition of block TKMRK ignored.

ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
Regenerating model.

ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
Command: *Cancel*

Command: *Cancel*

Command: *Cancel*

Command: audit

ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass

Total errors found 0 fixed 0

ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass
ARX_ERROR: eNotThatKindOfClass

After I selected the file to insert, I also got a text box that said:
"ARX ERROR - eduplicate key"

This makes me hit "OK" about five times and then a message comes up stating:
"This application has detected a mixed version of AEC objects participating in this operation.

Newer AEC objects will be disallowed from participating in this operation."

Then I click "OK" once more and voila!! no block.

Does anybody have any suggestions on why this is happening and how I can fix it on this drawing as well as prevent the issue in the future. I recieved these drawing from a consultant that we regularly get files from. Thank you in advance for any help.

What version of acad are you using? Are you working in a dwg that you created? or was it created in some other desktop?

ACAD 2002 with ArchDT 3.3

Many of the web results refer to the Land Development build, I don't believe that the consultant is using that build since they are providing mechanical layouts for residential plans.

The drawings were created by me and sent to the consultant for him to draw on top of (our xrefs that is).

Hi

Must just be me but when I browse/read the results from the web search I see a lot of reference to ADT and Autodesk Building Systems....

What version is your client running?

From what I've read in the results via the web search

+

"This application has detected a mixed version of AEC objects participating in this operation.

Newer AEC objects will be disallowed from participating in this operation.

Then I click "OK" once more and voila!! no block."

I would guess they are running a newer version than yourself and this is the cause of the problem.

Mike,
I talked to the consultand and indeed, they are using a newer release, AutoCADLT 2004, and used the saveas feature to allow us to open it up. They also said that they recently upgraded the computer of the guy who was performing the CAD work and the he or I are possably missing an object enabler. Is the only solution for the consultant to also install a 2002 version of ACAD on his machine? Are there any object emablers that I may need? Or is this simply the issue with 2004 and 2002 versions. Thank you guys for all the input and solutions.

Hi

Check out the Autodesk Object Enablers Download Page -

Object Enablers (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=123112&id=2753223&linkID=2475161)

You may find that you both require Object Enablers, though I would guess the more likely would be your client who is using AutoCAD LT 2004.

Have a good one, Mike
