Please bring back the include/exclude point groups functionality when creating/editing point groups. This option really saves time when trying to differentiate points with similar descriptions.

Well, I just opened the Point Group Manager in
Land 3, Land 4, and Land 2005 and they are exaclty
the same. So please make an image of your
dialogue boxes and circle the portion that is different or missing
because in NO version does one have the ability to Exclude a
Point group from the operation, however one may exclude points
through a variety of other options, none of which is by GROUP

Correct, the other options that we have are flexible and very useful, I'm not denying that. I have not used LDT 2005 yet, however I have used all the releases up to that point with the exception of R2000 (we jumped from R14 to R2i). I could be wrong, as it has been known to happen, but I think 2i had this functionality. Obviously, we no longer have this loaded so I will try to find a screen shot from a manual or our old procedures. Thanks for your feedback.

I was mistaken, the method was to select the "source" that you wanted to filter. This is where point groups were available. As I remember it, you could import points to a point group (as you can now) then create "sub-groups" based on the original. This was helpful if you recieved field topo at different times. That way if you were filtering for "ground shots" you didn't have to worry about picking up points from the previous work. Certainly, you can avoid this by including only the point number range of your current work...just reminds me of a saying I've heard..."Flexibility breeds Complexity".
This leads me to a point and a question for anyone "listening"...I recently read a response from Mr. Farrell urging people to continue education/training. Due to the staggering amount of new tools/tricks/utilities/etc. that we are exposed to on a regular basis, no one person can keep track of it all. I, for one, applaud AUGI for fostering and promoting awareness and education among the people that use this technology every day.
Question: Recently, Autodesk instituted certifications for ADT experts. When can we expect to see the same for LDT?
Thanks again for the feedback...
