Perspective view through a viewport does not hold once DWG file is re-opened

I have a guy here who is trying to produce a perspective view through a viewport. When setup everything looks great until its saved and reopens when the perspective option resets.

Is there a way round this we have tried saving the view as a named view but this makes no difference.

Its basically because we have to save down to version 2004. This must strip out the perspective part of the vport.
