Sorry I didn't mention this with my last post but can someone tell me if Autocad Mechanical 2005 has full 3d drawing capabilities. All I hear mentioned on the info websites I've been given is 2D! I understand it has a lot of neat block inserts for various Steel structures & Machine components ie: fasteners etc. But no mention of 3D!
TIA!

Hi Paul

Please note I've *moved* this Topic (Thread) from the ACAD 2005 General Forum (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58) to this one as I believe it would be better served here.

Thanks, Mike

Thanks Mike! I realized after you sent me the reply that I should have started the thread in "Autocad Mechanical"! Still learning this new forum & very appreciative of it! Catch you later!

AutoCAD Mechanical is more of a 2D mechanical program, with some 3D capabilities. I think what you might want to look into is Inventor.

Thankyou Brenda! I kind of got that impression after reading the websites that you posted for me. I like the database of shapes & misc items for sure, but need full 3d capabilites. Have a good one!

Mechanical is 2D
Mechanical Desktop is 3D
Inventor replaces Mechanical Desktop
The only way to get Mechanical Desktop is with the Inventor Series...
