View Full Version : Set Z-axis so it aligns with the "instantaneous" direction of the Spline?

I am trying to extrude a circle along a 3d spline path. I would like to draw the circle at the end of the spline so that its z-axis aligns with the "instantaneous" direction of the spline at the end of the spline. We used to use the z-axis function of the ucs command, pick the end of the spline, and then pick our second z-axis alignment point on the spline as close as possible to the first pick, but of course this was only an approximation. Is there a way to use the new DUCS to do this?
Thanks,
Mike

That's a really nice tip. Thanks for that.

Vvveerryy genius...
I do UCS command so many times but sometimes I don't care about what's written on the command area, that's why I don't know that option until now..

The option was new for AutoCAD 2007.
