Are there globally recognised symbols used when making electrical drawings? How can I get these? Any ideas, anyone?

I come across lots of different symbols for particular item when handling electrical drawings. It takes precious time off the actual editing as I make frequent trips to and from the legends which usually is a separate drawing.

Have you tried a google (http://www.google.ae/search?hl=en&q=Electrical+Symbols&btnG=Search&meta=) search?. You may come across some standard stuff among those links.

Wisdom, I might not be following your question but I understanc that JIC is the standard used in the US, and ACAD E comes with this simblogy OTB.


Please elaborate on what you are looking for and I will try to help.

ACE has IEC European Symbols as well as JIC Electrical Symbols included in the software. My company just bought the 2008 package and it's great. I was using SolidWorks DWGEditor previously. Now I can relate all the dwg's to each other.
