Not sure what would be the best place for this post but I'll put it here.

Just playing around with blocks, attributes and fields. I created this drawing (see attached) with a block definition that has a field that references an attribute of a block reference. Sound confusing? Open the drawing and you should see four blocks, one red. Change the value of MYATTRIBUTE for the red block and REGEN your display. You should see the other blocks update with the new value. Also notice that the attribute wraps, well that's because it's actually a field in MTEXT. I haven't quite found an application for this yet but it is interesting, thought I'd share.

:)

Note of caution: Deleting the red block will break all the links.

That is pretty cool. Not sure what you would use it for. Maybe if you have a commercial building with the same sign on multiple sides, you could just update one and they all update.

I know the perfect opportunity to use this feature, put the field in your block, and use custom drawing properties to access the field. I have seen posts where users would like to be able to have a multiline attribute. This might be what they are looking for, sure it isnt an attirbute, but when you pull up custom drawing properties, you can edit it just as easily as an attribute.

How did you get the field in the text to reference the attribute?

I can reference it if the text is OUTSIDE the block but as soon as I try and get the text with the field in the block with the attribute it is referencing it falls over.

any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
