Is there a way to get data on schedules and (names of) sheets outside the program? I know it's related to my previous question, but that was purpose-specific. In a general way, let's say I'd want to generate specific schedules from a project, would that be possible using a stand-alone application?
Cheers,

This has been on our Revit wishlist at least since 6.0. For us it's about getting consultant drawings onto the drawing list, in the order we want, not necessarily alphabetical.
Danny Polkinhorn wrote an API program that adds consultant drawings to the Revit model as dummy sheets, thereby enabling Revit to schedule them. I personally haven't used it, but James Vandezande has had a look at it.
Way back when, when Marty Rozmanith was still on board, I suggested it could be as simple as a text file that Revit could read and incorporate into the drawing list. In other words, it doesn't have to be in the model at all.
This is how I do it in Acad. Consultants have to furnish us with their drawing list in Excel, and I read it into Acad via a VBA routine. I then generate an Acad table. The types of projects we do have four times as many engineering drawings as architectural. This saves immense amounts of work.

Just reading sheet data from projects and being able to print and manage sheets, schedules and project information would be a massive help. Then again, a Revit viewer that displays sheets and the model (as if it was a DXF viewer) would be a massive improvement too.
