In AutoCAD 2005 based products, the radio buttons Inches and Mm are no longer shown in the Plot or Page Setup dialog box. When trying to plot a metric drawing to imperial paper sizes, a metric scale can no longer be selected, and vice versa. I can't understand why the ability to control this was taken away. Bring back the in/mm radio buttons.

I'm thinking that AutoDesk is thinking that
if one is plotting to Imperial or Metric media
that the end-user knows the correct page size
dimensions in whatever units they are working in.
Although it would be interesting to have someone
explain how removing this function increases
productiviy or usability of the product.
So far my overall impression of 2005, way too much
window dressing, and hype, not enough real productivity
enhancements, and many of the tools (fields, layer key styles,
and sheet set) are not fully realized as currently implemented.
This is yet another reason to denounce the subscription program
as it continues to funnel money into a company that steadily
ignores known deficincies and is fast moving towards a yearly
realease schedule.

The REAL wish list item, FIX all of the known problems with the
product for FREE before attempting to force another upgrade on
us that contains the same known problems and a few new ones
just to keep our life interesting.
Wouldn't it be great to find no Technical Documents that affirm
yes AutoDesk is aware of the problem and NO they don't plan on
fixing it.

PLEASE NOTE:

Nowhere in this post do I say I hate AUTODESK nor does it state that we
can't ask or WISH for certain items in the wish list.
However I do wish that the qaulity of the information in any given post
were rated, and NOT this childish reputation button, as if the forums were
a popularity contest totally unrelated to the level of technical information
contained in the post. I feel this 'feature' does less to build community
than it does towards fostering animosity.

This is a rather critical omission. For instance, we have projects that use Architectural/ANSI paper sizes, but the job is in metric units per Owner's requirements. And many plotter/printer drivers will only let you specify paper sizes in either Imperial units or metric units, but not both at the same time.

Note that I have moved this thread from the wishlist forum to the General forum, since the hot fix addresses this issue.
