How would one configure a simple plot style table?

We currently have one monochrome and one color table. Easy, huh.
The color table is the subject of this inquiry.

We have no need of complicating our plot style table (.stb file), yet would like the color table to show differently on PAPER.
For example, we use yellow for text on the SCREEN!

BTW -
We are an internal engineering support dept dealing with (+/-) 70% mechanical, 20% architectural, and 10% electrical.
Simplicity is *much more important* than show.
The engineers are novice AutoCAD users.
We don't do product design - no need to impress customers.

With that in mind, do you think the following would be sufficient amount of style names for our color table :

visible
centerline
hidden
phantom
border (schematics)
hatch
directional arrows thick lines
title block thick lines
title block thin lines
annotation
revision
dimension
proposed
demolition

Any thoughts, additions, or examples are appreciated.
Thanks abundantly

How about this:

Mono (Black lines)
Color (Opaque)
GrayScale(10%)
GrayScale(20%)
GrayScale(30%)
GrayScale(40%)
GrayScale(50%)
GrayScale(60%)
GrayScale(70%)
GrayScale(80%)
GrayScale(90%)
Color Screened(10%)
Color Screened(20%)
Color Screened(30%)
Color Screened(40%)
Color Screened(50%)
Color Screened(60%)
Color Screened(70%)
Color Screened(80%)
Color Screened(90%)
Invisible

and keep all your objects, lines, etc bylayer.

This way you can control your lineweights, linetype, etc by layer or object.

Excellent suggestion (screening). As far as BYLAYER is concerned,we're keeping the faith.

We run Richard's system but add "Force Color" and "Force Mono" which ignore the color/mono stb setting. Force color will always print color even if the sheet is set to use mono stb. Useful for things like revision notes which stand out on an otherwise mono page.

I use plotstyle NONE or monochrome. Monochrome will simply plot out all of your colours as black, so no need to change anything.
NONE plots out exactly as you see the drawing on screen, so if I need a colour plot but have layers that are yellow, I use Layer States Manager (in Layer Manager) to save the original layer colours then change the colour of the yellow layers to white, or whatever, and save that layer state as 'Plot Colour'
I do the same thing if I have to reduce an A1 to A4, but change the thickness of the lines to .9 for easy reading.
