Mirroring Components with Connections

I couldn't find anything on this topic with a search, so I apologize if this has been covered already. When I mirror components with connections on them such as a valve I made, strange things happen with the connections (see attached image). They shift up or down depending on the mirror line chosen, and are separate from the geometry. The connections themselves are simply placed using the "by face" connection command in the family. Has anyone else had this problem?

Havent had that happen, but have you tried using controls in your family so that you can just click on the control to mirror your family. it should keep the connectors in the right place.

I've had the same issue with plumbing fixtures with connections. I've resorted to copy and rotate.
