Alternate Dim BELOW dimline

In acad 2000, I could get the alternate dims to go below the dimline, with the primary dim above, by giving the primary dim a suffix of \X. This doesn't work with 2005. Does anyone know how I can have primary units above dimline, and alternate dims below the dimline?

Could you not use the built in functionality of Dimension Styles -

Dimension Style Manager dialog box -> Modify button -> Modify Dimension Style dialog box -> Alternative Units tab, especially the "Placement" area bottom right corner.

Enter dimension text <1.8007>: <>\X[]

(Those characters after the "\X" are "[" and "]".)
