Copying and pasting text masks

Is there a way to wblock or cut and paste text with text masks from on drawing to another?

Everytime I try it, the text and the text mask (wipeout) are no longer grouped. I need them to stay grouped so when you move the text the wipeout follows as it does in the original drawing.

I believe this is why they changed the way the wipeout works in 2005, and made it a property of the text object...

I don't know of any way around it.
