View Full Version : Acad 2002 to 2005: viewport scaling

We recently upgraded from ADT 3.3 to ADT 2005.

One of my peers is asking how he can control the viewport scaling in a similar fashion to the previous release we were on. Specifically, the box where one could specify exact scaling---but not necessarily "to scale". (Some of the drawing we work on have viewports that are not meant to be to any real scale.)

Previously, when highlighting a viewport, this box (in the viewports toolbar) would give you a scale factor, usually the the thousandth of a unit [ .041666 is an example (which is also the architect's version of 1:20 scale]. My associate used to use this box to tweak the scale factor ever so slightly, and he is hoping for a way to do this again in the new version. I have found how to scale using the usual scale factors (using the properties toolbar), but the info shows only "custom scale" when the scale is not one of the recognized scale types.

Help...?

As far as I know the toolbar should still work exactaly the same. I use it almost daily.

Well, it's odd, because I noticed that 2005 didn't have a viewports toolbar any more...maybe the mnu file didn't load right?

Hmphh...It has been some time since I had to load a menu file, as we stick pretty close to the vanilla version of acad/ADT.

Upon loading the new software, the default mnu file is ONLY adt.mnu...apparently if you want anything else you gotta load it yourself.

Thanks for the help!
