View Full Version : Seeing red... and I'm not mad yet...

My contours have turned red. The style doesn't have any red colors in it... the surface style and layer has been checked and should be bylayer to a green and a blue color but the contours show up as red and a pink color. I've checked each setting and checked the layer it on but they stay red... they are set on the V-TOPO layer which is white and all the settings for that surface are set to bylayer.... it doesn't affect plotting on anything else but it is annoying to have them red and pink when I know they should be blue and green. Is there another setting in there that is controlling this? Watersheds maybe? I am using Civil3D 2007.

Hi Diva,
Perhaps your file got switched to a different color palette? True Color perhaps?

I forgot to mention something else. I have the same style used for another surface in the same drawing and it is appearing exactly as it should. I've tried comparing the two but haven't seen a difference in them yet other than the obvious... red contours. However I'm wondering if the contour geometry is the control rather than the display settings.

Is the drawing small enough to post so we can take a look at it?

I opened the drawing a couple days ago and the contour issue was fixed... glitch? a setting somewhere that I changed and didn't know? I would have posted it but its fixed now and you wouldn't be able to see what I was talking about. I think it was a setting I didn't know I had flipped on.

I was just messing around with a surface's properties and accidentally turned all the contours red with a 'contours' analysis from the 'analysis' tab. This might have been what happend to your surface. You can get rid of an analysis like this by setting the range to 0.

I think that is exactly what I did... lol... went back and tried it out and that was exactly what it was... there is never a dull moment when I'm having a duh moment...
