View Full Version : 2007 Hatch Patterns Gone Crazy

There are three hatch patterns that I can think of in particular that have this problem...gravel, aggregate, and concrete. These hatch patterns, if they even show up appear as pieces of lines. I've tried making smaller areas but the hatch pattern is not recognized. If the pattern does show up, as soon as I regen, it either goes away or is broken up lines. Anybody have any ideas? Several people have this problem in our office since we upgraded to 2007. Thanks.

Hi. Welcome to AUGI.
What you describe is usually the result of trying to hatch an area that is a long way from the origin (0,0,0). Either moving the geometry to be hatched closer to the origin or creating a UCS that is based closer to that geometry normally fixes it. The effect to is due to rounding off in the calculations.

Thanks! I got it figured out by looking through some old threads. I hope Autodesk fixes this problem soon. We never had this problem unitl we upgraded to 2006 and have had it ever since. At least we know how to fix it but it is an inconvenience.

Try moving the hatch origin near to the hatched location within the hatch control. The graphic in here shows where it is:

- or obtain higher precision hatch patterns. The three patterns you mentioned are specified to rather low precision and lose accuracy when you hatch at remote locations. When respecified to high precision they become reliable even when the coodinates reach the millions.
