I had a Student Version of AutoCAD 2008 loaded on my VISTA operating system. I have since unloaded it according to my AutoCAD vendors suggestions and am trying to load a licensed commerial version. Everyone is stumped. I have gotten rid of all files and when I load the commercial version it continues to come up as the Student Version. It doesn't completely uninstall, because it doesn't ask for any type of registration at all. My vendor suggests a complete reinstall of my OS. Isn't that drastic? I loaded the program on a small desktop in my home and it installed fine.....so something isn't uninstalling and allowing me to do a clean install of the licensed version. Any thoughts?

This (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/item?siteID=123112&id=2887771&linkID=9240617) should help.

Contact your reseller.

I've already contacted them. They're the ones giving me the advice of reinstalling my OS. I've also paid for the AutoCAD Subsciption Service. Hopefully once that goes through I can talk directly to them about it.

In that case, maybe you should switch resellers... ;)

Going through the subscription channels is good. They should be able to help.
