Missing Tool Palletes

Can anyone tell me why my tool pallettes would be missing after I restart ACAD after an install?

Will,

When you say "my tool palettes" and install,
are you talking about your custom tool palettes?
If so when you re-installed it erased them.
Do you have a back-up?

I do a brand new instal with no customization and start ACAD and it appears to run correctly. After I shut done the computer and restart ACAD all of the standard tool palettes will not work and none of the commands at the command line will work unless you type in the whole command. While starting ACAD I get a message the says Can't find the shapes.atc file, but I can't find anything on Autodesk's website about that file.

Hey i got a similar problem. I centralized the tool palletes so that all the crew has the same palletes. i created 5 new palletes and they seemed to work fine last night. this morning when i turned on the computer and started autocad, one of the pallete tabs is gone. the file is still there but the pallete aint reading that file. any suggestions on why that is?
