Here's a quick (and I'm sure easily answered) question. Working in Mechanical Desktop (any version), is it recommended to work on a file stored on a server of to bring it in locally and work on it? I bring a copy to my local machine then put it back when finished. Is that the best and fastest way to work?

I would suggest you leave it on the server,
as when you open it, you are working on a
local copy that is then saved to the network
on exit.
This also prevents another user from editing the same model
that you are working on.

that sounds reasonable enough and would eliminate double revisions but....it seems to run ALOT slower working through a network. is that not "normal"?

This is becoming a recurring theme with 005 based products.
Have you disabled the communication center part of it?

We are also having this problem with linking up different sites. I think that we are going to use some sort of drawing management tool. like vault (invtr). Then you check the drawing out, work on it locally and then check the drawing back in. Things to remember- shared library paths!
