Normally when you type OPEN in Land Desktop the "Open Drawing: Project Based" dialog appears. You can then choose your Project Path etc.

I have one user who does not get this dialog box. Instead he gets the "Select File" dialog box that normally appears in Map or AutoCAD. This is true whether he types OPEN, chooses Open from the file pull-down menu or picks the Open toolbar button.

If he types AECOPEN at the command prompt he gets the "Open Drawing: Project Based" dialog as desired.

I logged on the same computer as myself and I do not have this problem. I do not think the problem is in the ACAD.PGP since it is stored locally and shared by all users.

Does anyone know what may be causing this and how to fix it?

His profile (ARG) file has been modified.
Replace, edit or otherwise give him a copy of
the profile that you loaded.
I have some evidence that performing a MENULOAD
operation within Land Desktop 2005 can cause some
interesting things to happen to the profile.

Under "Projects" then "user preferences" there are two toggles, <"New" drawing dialog"> and <"Open" drawing dialog>. Check these on to get the aecopen to work on a standard "Open". Make sure to save this in the profile also.

Good point coolmo, this would be resolved
by verifying that all users are loading the
same SDSK.DFM file as well.

Changing the settings in the LDT user preferences worked. Thanks Coolmo.

What did you mean by saving it to the profile?

I made the change and restarted LDT and it seems to work fine.

Jeff,

The user preferences settings are saved in the SDSK.DFM file not in the ARG (profile)
