Well as i get close to having to create my final animation with my first mental ray experience i gotta say i've learned alot. Hopefully i'll get to do another rendering job soon, maybe some nice stills.
Anyways quick question, i'm am using both FG&GI in my animation (basic walkthru). I'm using DBR (distributed bucket rendering) with 2-3 other PC's. There is no goemetry that moves in my rendering just my camera, would i be correct by saying that i should 100% save out a "FG Map" and reuse it throught my animation??? Also i just read something about a photon map, what is that? shuold i be creating one of them as well?
Well thanks to everyone in here i've learned a ton...

I'm no MR expert but i would recommend saving the FG Map and basically reuse everything that you can. One thing to watch out for is that you may get flickering noise in the animation due to low sample settings so keep an eye out for that.
