Are there any Revit add-ons available?

What functionality are you looking for?

You asked for it. I would like:
1) To customize dimensions so fractions can stack diagonally. The reason for this is so you can easily tell the difference between 1'-1 1/2" and 11 1/2".
2) Customize snap preferences on start-up. I never use 1 , 5, or 15 degrees. I never use 4' or 1/4" increments either.
3) I would like to resize the tool pallet and project browser to my width.
4) I would like to have no default template in start-up. When it is blank, I get a stupid prompt.
5) I would like to customize dimensions so I can have one end without an arrow or line so I can declutter a dimension page. Something like this: <------21'-3" would keep a lot of dimension lines from crossing.
6) Overlay to lower levels without bleed from other levels. If I have page 9 and overlay page 3, the floors inbetween show up as well.
7) Extended object snap (for drawing lines). This does work sometimes.
8) Enter key as repeat
9) Structural concrete beams that:
a. creating beam pockets in supporting wall
b. sit on top of columns
c. extend to outside face of support wall
d. placement of beam anywhere along adjacent structural wall and not being forced to move
10) Don’t need “hidden windows”. Just show all open projects.

Just about everything you're asking for is already on the Wish List. Check out that forum.
None of these strike me as add-ons. Most are changes to core Revit functions, and a few are, frankly, just getting used to the way Revit works.
One thing I CAN help you with, item #2. the Snap settings are included in the Template. Once you've customized your Template and start a new Project using it, you'll have your Snaps set they way you like them.
Re: #6, There is a feature in the View properties called "Underlay" that I think will do what you want. You may also need to play with your View Range.
Not sure what you mean by either # 7 or #10
#8 - not really a repeat, but check out the "Create Similar" button in the upper right
If you're looking for true Revit add-ons, check the Revit-API forum, or www.robobat.com (http://www.robobat.com)

Thanks Dave. I have tried the template, a new one. Still, the factory default keeps returning. Even on an existing project that I have saved my settings, the factory returns as well.

These add ons that are from the posted website are for Revit Structural 2008 do you guys know if they work for Revit Architecture 2008? The Freeze drawings and Compare Drawings tools seem interesting. Has anyone used them?
I was thinking that they will be helpful in creating a standard details library.

Does anyone know of an Add On that you can use like a searchable database (add information regarding keywords, originating project, designed by...) for standard details?

I tried the robobat extensions. First you must install (at least the trial version) of Revit Structure. Then install the robobat extensions. Copy the files installed in the RS Program folder to the RA Program folder. Also you will need to modify the RA revit.ini file to mimic the RS revit.ini file.

what exactly do you get if you install robobat extensions...?

WOW - WOW -WOW
So cool to see this website. Ok so who needs a axis grid in a hurry. But hay this site and others a catylist for where the Revit enterprise is boldly going.............
I would very much like to work with Robobat to create a window extension generator that will allow custom building of in-place windows within a project that can be "scheduled" unlike curtain windows which is our current method. By the way just quietly archicad have a awesome window generator.

You can only do what the API will allow. And you can't do that currently. What you can do is drive parameters with the API which is of some use.
FWIW, I forwarded pictures of the ArchiCAD(CadImage) window generator to the Factory about Version 4... Enough said. When I have talked to people at the factory about this it seems that Australia/NZ is relatively unique in the amount of custom joinery we use. A lot just purchase from catalogues. So it was a low priority from their point of view.
I'd also argue core functionality such as a window/door builder should come from the Factory not at user expense. I would say it'll be a few years before you could do this with the API anyway (as a family).

ps: nice to see another Kiwi lurking around Augi ;-)
I agree with you guys on the window builder idea. I sent the request clear back in version 3. Like you said, not a priority in their mind huh. Auto-Architect was the last thing that I used that was able to do this. Sometimes it's just good to think about some of the good'ol days.

Wow! Look who decided to pop back in! Where have you been?

Have you seen Scott's post about the Autodeks Labs from yesterday?

Interesting thoughts
I just viewed a window manufacturer online who has an awesome window/door family generator which lets you download it as a family. Further if we had a dollar for every thread on a desire to have a revit windows generator over the past 4 years we would be rich.
Bizzar that Archicad and an American window manufacturer see the light having a window generator that allows full customisation but Autodesk Revit does not. Interestingly there was nothing in the wish list either which suprised me.
Further I have sent a letter to robobat outlining a proposal for creating a window/door generator and hope to link with them to make this happen.
Cheers

Not really a generator so much as a "search" tool to pinpoint a window in their catalog, and then you can download the appropriate family, pre-built by the company.

What company are we talking about?
FWIW, I submitted a series of projects and curtain wall families to the Factory a few years ago showing how window and Door families would be more useful if they were based on curtain wall functionality. Once you've set up a few standard profiles for use as mullions and a few custom curtain wall panels doing custom joinery is a breeze. The only issue is, as Steve said is the scheduling. But you can fudge that as well.

I believe we may be talking about Jeld-Wen windows and doors.
http://www.jeld-wen.com/architecturaltoolbox/index.cfm
and then the link there to 3D Drawings (off-site link)

Cheers Scott,
Interesting, but like you say Revit families with custom generation of type catalogues.

Which in itself is not very good...don't use type catalogs for one-off windows. Instead Jeld-Wen should give use the complete type catalog for that particular window so we can have a choice of sizes to use in our projects.
