Summary: The ability to pick a low point and determine from the surface the drainage area into that point.

Description: I would like to be able to select a low point on a surface (such as at a storm drain curb inlet)and have Civil3D create a boundary polyline, feature line or possibly a parcel object at the limits of the area that would drain to that low point. These objects would also possibly recognize the presence of adjacent objects and not overlap or interfere. Also, if it could somehow be integrated into the pipes tools, that would be great. Showing a drainage boundary as you were placing a structure would be very cool.

How Used: Knowing what size area drains to a given storm drainage structure, ditch or swale is usually the first step in sizing pipes and inlets, etc. Also, more and more frequently we are asked by municipalities to delineate drainage areas on our plans. Currently we are doing all of this work by hand, although sometimes surfaces with slope arrows help speed up the process. Also, when these areas are turned into parcels we can use all of the powerful civil3d labeling and table creation tools. Automatic creation of the area boundaries would speed up this process a lot.
