I need to look into studies that show a measurable performance increase in
the Autodesk applications from 32 Bit to 64 Bit. (same RAM)
Or any research about 32 bit apps running on 32 bit OS versus 32 bit apps on
a 64 bit OS (different RAM 4G, 6G).
We need something that shows an increased performance on a 64 bit OS.
That is something that i would love to do myself, but i am too busy to do such a thing. Would love to see a side by side comparison of this.

I would be interested to see the results of a test like this too. We plan on upgrading to Vista in about 18 months so I won't be doing any testing soon.
My guess is that you will not see any performance increases in the current AutoCAD software with a 64 bit OS. My impression is that Autodesk is only porting the existing software over to function with the new OS as opposed to taking advantage of any performance increases. Hopefully we will see those performance increases in future versions.
The extra memory can increase performance but it really is going to depend on the type and size of your data files.
I did some tests on Windows 2000 and Civil 3D 2007 to see if increasing my memory from 2GB to 4GB (3BG switch) would increase performance. I saw very slight performance increases with some commands and not at all in others. My data set included approximately 4 drawings that were referenced into each other totaling about 20 MB.

Well my post was more for Revit.
There is no Revit 64bit today but I wanted to know how AutoCAD and 3D studio 64bit faired in its upgrade from 32bit to 64bit.
