Does anyone have any experience with this new Publisher for plotting a set of drawings all with the same plot settings? I can't seem to find any decent instructions anywhere.

Thanks,

JEFF

Think of Publish as your last chance to adopt named page set-ups while you can.
Use the ADD Sheets button to go get the drawings that contain
your desired layouts.
It will pause and load the drawings.
It also helps to insert your templat file that contains
your page setup.
Highlight each drawing right click and select the setup to use when it is plotted.
If you will be publishing the same list save it and hit publish.

Micheal,
There you are bailing me out again.

The drawings that I am trying to plot are drawn 100% in Model Space. Can I still use publisher to print them with out creating layouts for every single drawing.

I also recall in the Batch Plot Utility that you could select one drawing that had the page setup that you wanted and have it print all the rest of the drawings with that same setup. Am I going to have to go into each drawing and create or import the page setup that I want? I may as well just print them while I'm at it if that's the case I would think.

Thanks,

JEFF

Special note on model space layouts, you can only apply
LIKE page setups, a models space page setup will not work
for a paper space layout for example.

So your best option is to have all of your various Named Page setups for your model space in your Template file. You will be able to apply the same layout parameters to
each model space tab of all the loaded drawings at the same time.
Or to have the Desired named page setup available in one of the drawings in the list.

Hi Jiff

Please note I've *moved* this Topic (Thread) from the CAD Mgmt. General Forum (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=119) to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such Topics (Threads).

Thanks, Mike

Hi

You may want to have a browse of the following threads -

Is there any replacement for BatchPlot in Autocad 04 and 05? (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=4846&highlight=Publish)

plot to file setting toggles off by itself (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=4127&highlight=Publish)

Have a good one, Mike

Sure, you can create a named page setup for model space, too. If all your drawings are in model space and require the same settings for the page setup, you can even set it up in one drawing and use that for all of them. Just make sure you include model space when adding drawings and you'll be set (you can select not to include layouts, so you don't have to remove a bunch of sheets from the list).
I don't know if you're on 2005 or not, but they made some great improvements to Publish in that version, too, including better detail on what the settings are with each plot and a preview if you're not sure about some.
