Hello my friendly CAD/MAYA Rock Star's,
I'm working on C3D at work and am doing a fairly large surface modle.
I am trying to convert the surface to a polygon mesh so I can import it into Maya.
Since Autodesk bought Maya, I thought I should go to the masters of CAD!!
I bought a 3rd party 3d modle conversion package (Rino 3D) but havn't had much luck.
It works great on converting solid modles but not so well on the TINN's.
Is there another method for converting TINN's to Polygon or nurbs Mesh's?

Alright then I'll just answer my own question.
From what little I could find this is what I did. While in Civil 3D set your surface style contours really high. Then explode the surface 2 times. Then, run create points/ automatic along vertices (A.K.A. contours). This is extremely time consuming so if you know a better way please let me know. Then export the points to .csv and buy a program called "Rhino 3d" then import the point and create a mesh from points. Then normalize the surface mesh and finally create a nurbs from mesh. Then export to an .obj file and import into Maya. You will have to massage a little but the results will be nice in the end.

Thanks for nothing,
