I am a new and current user of Revit Structure 2008 and in a project now that is constructed of P.E.M.B. (pre-engineered metal buildings) so I am curious to know how I would go about in a step by step process to create a "tapered column" so that I could construct this project correctly with P.E.M.B. frames. Does any one know if there is a preset/ file or folder that may have these that I could customize or if I have to create all on my own, any help or advice would help so any is welcome.

A chapter in Revit Structure 2008: Advanced (Imperial & Metric) leads you through building just that. It can be had from: http://www.adskconsulting.com/courseware/cat/ad_courseware_cat.php or through your reseller.

Also, have a look at Revitcity.com (under downloads). If I remember correctly they have some premade families that you can have a look at and then reverse engineer to suit.

Matt,

I've attached a couple of PEMB families that I had downloaded from Revitcity.com. I started modifying a couple of them to make them a little more user friendly, but they're not quite there yet.....not even close actually.
