Hello, I am a brand new user of Land Desktop / Civil 3D. I have extensive expirience in AutoCAD. I have used Civil 3D to import a DEM file that I got from the USGS site. I now need to use the surface in AutoCAD so that I can insert a building and a few other items, and eventually create a rendered image. The only way I can think of to do this is to bring the contour lines into AutoCAD and run a loft on them. ( I have figured out to convert them to contours from the DEM Data) Any ideas would be excellent.

Thanks!

You can do it all right in Civil 3D (if you are using Civil 3D and not the Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion, two different programs). Since Civil 3D is built on top of ACAD, you have all your ACAD tools at your disposal. Simply view your surface from a perspective and render.
