Detail component manager

I used to be able to select a component such as a W8x15 from the detail component manager, and inserted in section view. Now, it only inserts it in plan view.
I can't figure out why. I need the steel in section view.
The options at insertion are to flip the X and Y axis, and change justification.
Does anybody have an answer?

When you insert it ensure that you have the properties palette open (ctrl + 1), in there you have the option to change the insertion to plan, section or elevation depending on what type of detail you are inserting.
