Hello,
I have some drawings which need to be "translate" from paper space to model space. Yet I wish to keep the same lay-out.
Can someone gives me a direction to look in?

To solve it I copy/paste the form and titleblock and scale them. then move what I had in the "views" to fit the form

Thanks

Which AutoCAD version are you using?

I think there is a Change Space (chspace) Express Tool since 2005. I don't remember if it has been incorporated into the core though.

If you're running AutoCAD 2008, try the new ExportLayout tool from Autodesk. We use it quite a bit at our company, and it works great for creating a new drawing in model space from a paper space layout.

Change Space I beilieve has been part of the core since 07, it is the second to last item in the modify pull down menu

Hello,
I'm running mechanical with autocad 2008.

The tool from modify->change space, is in fact for most of the entities from pspace to mspace but not views themselves.
I think that the tool that "mpeterson79" mentioned is what I'm looking for But I can't get it running as it needs an Autocad 2008 related product already installed ??
Thanks

Mechanical is a vertical built on AutoCAD. You mentioned you are using 2008 already.

Let's rephrase what Opie said - the ExportLayout functionality can only be executed from inside of AutoCAD 2008 - it does not currently work with vertical software like Mechanical, even though Mechanical Desktop essentially operates 'on top of' AutoCAD 2008.

The OP's attached pic implies an AutoCAD 2008 based product is not installed on the machine. ~shrug~ I don't have a different solution.

I get that same error though when I try to run ExportLayout from Civil3D 2008. If I launch Civil3D as AutoCAD, it still won't work.

It MUST be run from 'true' AutoCAD. Autodesk Mechanical 2008 is NOT AutoCAD.
