DWGs & performance

I am aware that too many DWGs can cause performance problems, but I wonder if this is ALL DWG situations, or just some.
Specifically, does an excess of DWG Drafting Views as details cause issues?
How about imported DWGs in Title Blocks, for things like Key Plans?
Are we likely to see performance issues because of this, or is it really only DWGs in "model" views, ie plans, that causes major grief?
