View Full Version : Previous / Next Project Drawing no longer works

Up until this week, I was able to use the Previous / Next Project Drawing arrows to move within the active project. Now they are still properly illuminated, but do not load the drawing.
The OPEN_DWG.SCR file contains the following line:
#ACE_PDSX_OPEN_BROWSE "r:/900/918-crown g2565/cad/s918r1/S918R1 SHT 7.dwg"
which points to the proper directory and file, although the directories are in upper case.
I don't know if it is related, but until recently I was the only ACADE user. We recently added several others. I am using 2006, they are using 2007.
At the same time that this happened, I started getting an error on loading ACADE of "AcePmComServer.exe" not able to load. That is the pop up communications tool that gives you updates.
I tried doing a full reinstall with no success, so apparently my preferences have changed.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

When using 2007, we have some issues with the Previous/Next Project Drawing arrows where they quit working. The way we fixed that was to turn off AutoCAD and restart the program which worked.
Not that this is a solution, but you could always add that LISP routine to your "brief case" where it would load with every drawing. If you would like to use this temporary solution, let me know and I will put together a step-by-step to help.

As long as all in the company is saving the same fromat there should not be a problem with using both. I do like 2007 better then 2006.
As far as the communications tool error, I am not formiliar with this.

My suggestion would be to contact Autodesk discussion forum (http://mfgcommunity.autodesk.com/discussions/) and ask those that program the software.
Sorry that I could not be of more help.
Let us know how it turns out here for those that might run into the same issue.:)

Thanks RenataP for the suggestion. The fix that worked was reloading a backup of my Documents and Settings files for AutoDesk from 3 months back. Apparently something in my settings file changed, but I didn't have the knowledge or time to work through what.
At any rate, life is back to the normal challenges of design.
Best regards,
Tom
