Laying out certian geometry has always been a little dificult in Revit. For instance: octagon bays. You need a lot of dimensions and ref. lines and then when you change your mind on the design you can't just scale the bay.

I've made a series of helpers. Each helper is a geometric figure with an instanced parameter. Now I can just stretch it to the size I want. Then I can use the align tool to attach the walls in the right spot....

Your kindness is overwhelming...I had just this problem with an octagonal bay window.

Thanks for the post!

Aaron,

I am new to Augi so this might be a dumb question, but I don't see a link to the helpers that you made, can you point me in the right direction?

Nice idea Aaron. Never considered this an option.

I suppose you need to make them yourself, unless someone is kind enough to post a few.

Thanks for this tip.

The original post by Aaron is from July of 2003....way back when AUGI Revit Forums were the Zoogdesign Forums. I think the links were lost over the transition. Maybe Aaron still has them and can report them.
