I am using autocad 2008 MEP and we recieved a 3D base plan and need to put in busduct that was drawn in 3D into it. When I put the duct in the drawing and change the view it is not in the right position. For example it will be in the right place in the overhead view but when you change to a 3D view it is no longer inside the base plan. Is there a different program I need to use to get this to work right?

You should check your model with Front elevation,Side elevation. Finally check with Top view.I think you will see location fault.

Make sure the co-ordinate system is the same in both (WCS is probably safest). It's also helpful to have the origin (x,y,z=0,0,0) match in both. Move everything in one or the other once you have identified the correct location.
