Customizable Clash Names - I'd like to name my clashes something more than CLASH1, CLASH2, etc.
Clash Report Customization - Not everyone can hand-edit XML, but it'd be nice to be able to do things like select the image size, font size and location, perhaps add a sign-off line, throw in a logo.

You can rename the clash name, just right click on it in clash detective and rename

This would be feasible on a very small project, but I typically see upwards of 2,000 clashes per floor on a typical project. I typically run 10-20 different Clash Batches per floor. On a 5-story Hospital, for example, you're talking about 200 different clash reports, and 10,000 clashes in total.
Manually renaming 10,000 clashes is not an option at this point, but could easily be remedied if I could select the prefix before the report is ran.
Thanks for your input though David, I can tell you're highly versed in the ins/outs of Navisworks.

I would definitely appreciate seeing more functionality in the clash reporting arena. Maybe a simple user interface for any dummy to create a new clash reporting template.

I have a couple of things that I wish to be better in "clash detective" for upcoming versions...
- Export/import to excel.. Makes it easier for the reciever of the report to make changes in comments and report back so that I can import the comments to my clash-test.
- Report to Viewpoints could be way better if the reported Viewpoints showed exactly what the clash-view shows. Meaning I want the Display-settings from the Result to be active in the reported Viewpoints.
I'm fairly new to Navisworks...maybe this already can be done. But I can't find how...

I too would like to see the clashes somehow match the clash batch names. Somehow relating the clashes back to the batch that created them would be helpful. Especially on those large projects where you have so many thousands of clashes, renaming them individually is just not something that can be done for the sake of time and sanity.

Sort results by file name or item. We have weekly meetings with 5 different subs, can be up to 3 hours. Would be nice to sort by file name on results so we can go over certain subs items at one time if they need to leave.
Custom reports - MUST HAVE item! Need to be able to export to excel with only information we need. Right now I have created a macro to import txt file and move things into appropriate column. Could be easier if I could create an xml template.

Renaming the clashes can be done quickly by pushing the tab button. After you have Renamed the first clash in your selection set, and while the cursor is still flashing next to your text, push the tab button. The next clash will automatically be changed. (you will have to push tab twice the first time to see results... Sorry, this doesn't copy any comments though... that would be nice...). Also, the folder options in 2010 make it much nicer to group your clashes together and keep things organized.

I can't duplicate the renaming you're describing... can you elaborate a bit (although it seems quite clear...)

Was this suppose to increment. As an example I put test1 and tabbed and ended up with test1 continually

I like the Group option as well, but the problem I run into is that it keeps the resolved items in the group and does not allow you to compact them to purge unless they are manually removed from the group. Once left as a stand alone clash then the compact command will purge out resolved items. Does anyone know a way around this? Also, is there a way to expand all grouped clashes in Clash Detective without having to click on the + to expand each individually?
