I think by now anyone that uses 2008 & xrefs will have come up against 'annotation scales' causing huge delays in opening drawings, could the wishlist be justa fix for this rather then the time consuming work arounds being touted by autodesk?
Even in 2009 the problem will not be fixed, infact here is a responce for the horses mouth...
The issue has not been completely eliminated in AutoCAD 2009. If a drawing with a large number of annotation scales is opened then the user will be notified and given the option to reset the list.
If a drawing is opened that contains an xref drawing that has a large number of annotation scales AutoCAD will hang.
A utility is due to be released that can be used to "batch" fix files
Again a 'workaround' is being offered....so my 'wishlist' request is that they fix the problem that they created in 2008
