Missing Alterations [Archive]

Using Map 2005, when trying to do an Property Alterations/ Define Text on a topology, the buttons for 'Text Value Expression' to select Topologies,Object Data and Link Templates are missing (Properties exists). Has anybody seen this before? Is there a solution?
I can type the expression in manually and it will work.

Are the Topologies,Object Data and Link Templates in the attached
source drawing? Or are they in your current MAP session?

They were in the current drawing. The drawing was produced from shape files. The lines from the shape file were made into a topology. When the lines were selected the object data was/were shown attached.
I finished the project yesterday. I opened the drawing this morning and the "Text Value Expressions" are present. I believe I saved and went back in yesterday, but maybe not.

I have no idea why the "Text Value Expressions" were missing. Thank you.
