When trying to open an AutoCAD file (unknown version), from an outside source, with 2008 Land Desktop or with Civil 3D (various machines have the same problem), I receive the following error message:
AutoCAD Error Aborting -- FATAL ERROR: Unhadled c0000094h Exception at 7830e3f8h and the program closes out. We have the latest service packs installed (for both LDD and Civil 3D)...any experience with something like this? Help!

Maybe the drawing is corrupt?
Have you tried the ._RECOVER command?
Can you zip and post the drawing file?

Yeah, we tried the RECOVER command and then it comes up and it says the file is invalid. It was created in AutoCAD r14. One person is swearing it is a video card issue since we have the same video cards as every else in the office (standard Dell computers).
I wish I could send you the file, but it is confidential so I can't. We can see the preview fine and it acts like it will open, but then that error pops up... the client is sending us the file on CD in hopes that maybe that will help.

Yeah, we tried the RECOVER command and then it comes up and it says the file is invalid. I suspect that is the case then. A few more options here maybe.

Have you tried using TrueView to open the drawing?
