Any ideas why AutoCAD sticks (hourglass) when I either type "plot" or go to "file plot" for about 2 minutes and then kick me out when it finally comes around? I have recently installed AutoCAD 2005.

Hi

Is it only the Plot command that is displaying this behaviour?

Can you print from other applications without any problems (sending to the same output devices)?

For what's it worth have you installed Service Pack 1 for AutoCAD 2005...

ID: TS62597 - Delay before Plot or Page Setup dialog boxes open (http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS62597)

ID: TS45410 - Plot, Page Setup, and Options dialog boxes are slow to display (http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=TS45410)

Have a good one, Mike

Thanks for the input. I have narrowed it down to a corrupt pc3 file. Now I have a problem with it defaulting tp "plot to file". Any ideas on how to stop that?

Thanks,
Bill Jones

Hi

Is it the "corrupt pc3" file that's "defaulting to plot to file" ?

If yes, I think it would be best, plus easier in the long run just to delete the .PC3 file and recreate it.

No. I deleted that file and created a new one. It's the new one that is plotting to file. I still can not get it not to plot to file.

Hi

Are you trying to plot to a Network Plotter?

If yes, have you first installed as a Windows Printer (just so you get access to the Port)?
