Is there a way to plot many drawings without having to open each one?

What version of autocad do you have? I have 2005, and I make a sheet set, you only need one of the sheets in the set open to plot everything (and you can do a page setup override, so you don't have to manually reset the plot specifics). HTH

In 2004 and below one can use Batch Plot
In 2004 and above one can use Publish
Each of these methods will allow you to
plot a list of drawings in background mode
NOTE: Each drawing file will still be opened
to execute the plot process.

Hi
Have a browse of the following thread -
Is there any replacement for BatchPlot in Autocad 04 and 05? (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=4846&highlight=Plot+Batch)
Have a good one, Mike

Thanks for the replies. I am actually looking for something like a DBX. That you can run a plotting script or something and drawings never have to be opened. Is there anything like that, that does cost an arm and a leg?
Thanks
Heather

Hi
If it's DBX you're after then Richard Binning is a name that springs to mind -
Thinking outside the Box with ObjectDBX (http://www.integr-8.com/AU2003/Index.htm)
I will send Richard a Private Message and see if he can pop by this thread....
Have a good one, Mike

You would have to obtain a license to do this with ObjectDBX, and write the program yourself in C++ or .net.
Sorry for the bad news.
