Help with smart tags

I am trying to utilize the smart tag feature in Navisworks 5. My company runs Bentley AutoPlant vertically off of AutoCAD. Bentley uses a SQL database to create objects versus actual solid models. (It's for file size reasons) Is anyway for Navisworks to read that database so I can pull relevant information from the model? All I can seem to get from it as it stands is information which is of little use to us.

Have you looked under the Tools menu -> Global options... -> Data tools settings? There are a number of options for linking to a database there. I have played around a little bit with connecting a database to a NavisWorks model, but not with AutoPLANT.

I can get a local test project connected that uses an Access database, but I'm having issues getting the info off of a SQL server database. I think its connected to the database, I think I just need to figure out the SQL language it wants in the lower left hand section of the data tools tab.

Once you get the SQL syntax (its worth learning), you should be golden.
