Can someone help? Fielded values freezing when referenced layers frozen.

Hello all,
I am referencing an attribute that is on a layer which is frozen.
when the referenced layer (in this case "M-DUCT-INFO")
is frozen, the value of the field disappears.

This has not been a problem before this morning, if anyone can help, I would certaily appreciate it.

The attribute which is on layer "M-DUCT-INFO" put on layer 0.

If I put the attribute on lAyer 0 I am not able to freeze "M-DUCT-INFO" when I need to.
