I'm in great need of a way to remove the link from inserted raster images, due to a complex file management system. I will still need to be able to modify the raster, I just want the image to reside in the drawing file itself. Is this possible?
Thanks for anyones help on this.

In short NO, images can not be loaded into a
drawing like blocks.

Hi

Check out the following Submission # EX001348 by Cecelia Dailey on the AUGI Exchange Page -

AUGI Exchange Search Page (http://www.augi.com/exchange/search.asp?page=415)

The above document gives clear instructions on how to embed an image file into an AutoCAD drawing file (is kind of work around, but definitely works very well).

Have a good one, Mike

Thanks for your help. I tried the OLE procedure that Celie recommends, unfortunately there are two problems that came up. First was that im inserting a .CAL file and that was not supported with OLE so I wrote it to a BMP. Then the second problem came up, I could not edit it with Raster Design. What do you think, any other ideas?

Hi

As far as I'm aware there is no other workaround for embedding an image file into a drawing file.... would gladly like to hear differently.

Have a good one, mike

Thanks for the try, maybe it will end up on Raster Design's Wish List
