EnergyPlus & DOE-2 download

After using GBS to anylize different designs for energy efficency and then modifying designs for better efficiency, how do you utilize the download files for EnergyPlus and DOE-2? Is the intent to provide the engineer with these files and software to anylize the cooling and heating loads and then size the mechanical systems accordingly for the building? Thanks in advance.

Hi.
Green Building Studio is meant as schematic tool. It actually sends out your model to the DOE 2-2 site and does the calcs through that system as well as Energy Plus. You could access Energy Plus directly as well as download DOE 2-2.

However, all you need to do is click on the downloads area (see attached) to download these files in their corresponding formats (DOE is in *inp and Energy Plus is in *IDF).
