Has anyone experienced AutoCAD 2008 running incredibaly slowly when inserting a new block into a drawing. With the same two files (host and inserted block) in AutoCAD2006 it is much much quicker....there's progress for you. Haven't checked the same files in AutoCAD2009 but will see.
This problem has only just reared its head in mine and a collegues copy of AutoCAD2008
..just checked and also works fine on AutoCAD2007
So why is it soooo..ooo.o.o.ooo.....o... slow on AutoCAD2008?

Try scalelistedit and then reset.Make that -SCALELISTEDIT, otherwise it may also take a while to start up.

To see why this happens search this forum for scale list nightmares. It's a bug of 2008 which has only been partly repaired with the last service pack. BTW, AutoDesk also makes a free Scale List Cleanup Utility which allows you to do this to multiple drawings at once outside of AutoCAD.
