Hi All you gurus out there
Here is the situation with our ACAD 2005. We change the name of a tab to Sheet 1 and save. When the dwg is opened the next time a new tab named Layout1 is created in addition to the renamed tab. No matter what you do the Layout1 tab is always present. If you know of some way to stop this it would be Greatly appreciated by all of us here at "The Firm"

Are you running some lsp that runs automatically each time you open a drawing?

True, I don't know of any way AutoCAD automatically "creates" a tab when opening an existing drawing.
(but I could be wrong)

Hi Tedg,
lol! I made some research on web and some are caused by VBA. I do not know programming so I cannot suggest anything if it is really the cause.

I don't do VBA and I do just enough lisp to be dangerous.
I think "dan.woodman" needs to get back to us on if there's some program running upon start up or when opening drawings.

Hey Guys
I'm almost sure that there is a lisp running but I'm not in the IT/DDR dept so I can't be 100% sure. It won't create a new one unless you change the name of the existing one from Layout1 to whatever. It's almost if it doesn't recognize the existing tab and creates a new one so you'll have one to use. Weird, I agree but it is really annoying. Thanks a lot for any help

You can remove it on the startup by typing AP. Agree that it is annoying like when you are doing a publish. It will add your layout to the Publish Dialog box then you have to remove it worst is if you didn't notice it that it is added.

I can tell you it isnt a default behavior, we rename our layout tab names for our sheets, and I have never encountered this issue. Although if AutoCAD is capable, the solution would be beneficial to me, just in case one of my users starts experiencing this problem

Agree, but It can be if there is a script that they had used in their drawing.
