Hi all,
A colleague of mine is having problems binding 1 particular xref in ACAD 2005, but I can bind it in ACAD 2007. Any ideas, anyone? Thanks.

The file that is being xreffed - as what version was it last saved?

All our drawings are saved back to 2000 - so that shouldn't be an issue in this case, maybe.

Oh dear.
Have you actually confirmed that? Just because we set a default save type doesn't mean acad always honours it - Wblock and in-place block editing, for example.

Definitely - checked & double checked. Even did an audit on all the drawings involved, still no good - not in 2005, in any case.

Have you done the AUDIT in 2005 or in 2007? It might be that there's new entity types used and saved back to some type of anonymous block - 2007 would then convert these to the true entity when opening the 200 file. But 2005 doesn't know of these entities so it stays the block. This could cause 2005 to see them as errors - thus failing the bind. Try saving to 2004 format and see if the same happens.
