i'm not even sure this is the correct subforum, but here goes...

i'm one of the few people in the office with a licence for a full version of autocad. my technicians use lt.

i used to work in an office in london where we all used lt. however, they had managed to extend it with their own proprietary... uh, 'bits'. the plot, command, for example was re-tooled completely.

i am trying to instill some good cad standards in my new office, and as part of this i have found some lisp routines that will help with creating standard layers. obviously, they won't run in lt!

what is the best way to go about writing extensions for lt??

I know there's some ARX addon which allows LT to run lisp files. Can't remember what its called, maybe someone here remembers.

hmm. i don't think they'd let me install what looks like a hack at work. and the place i was before definately didn't have anything like that... ?

I agree. I dont think there is any repectable way to make LT be able to handle lisp.

what about something other than lisp?

to harp on: my previous place had managed to replace the plot command/dialogue with their own, bespoke dialogue. there must be a way in lt.
